Gran Fonda Tour Against Cancer

June 28, 2025

30, 50, and 75 mile paved routes
40 and 50 mile gravel routes!

Dave Fonda, the founder of and inspiration for this event, loved cycling and his community. He started this fundraiser in 2007, dedicated to parlaying his passion into a cause that could help those fighting cancer. Although Dave lost his own battle in 2018, we keep him a part of this event by renaming it in his honor. Now, we hope the Gran Fonda Tour Against Cancer will inspire others to ride for a greater purpose.

Enjoy a healthy bike ride while fighting cancer. Ride some of the most beautiful roads in northwest Illinois!

This event will begin at 8 a.m. at Tutty's Crossing Trailhead, 250 E. Stephenson Street in Freeport.

The Gravel Growler begins at 10 a.m. from the same location.

Please complete the Gran Fonda Registration and Waiver Form.

We will ride the "classic" routes starting from Tutty's Crossing. The routes include the standard 30, 50, and 75 mile paved routes, 30 mile to Orangeville and back on the trail, 40 mile (Gravel Growler), and 50 mile gravel routes.
