Student experiences are an excellent way to make sure you are choosing a career that is the best fit for you. Through job shadowing and student rotations you will better understand the roles of a variety of healthcare team members and the responsibilities of each.
Job shadowing provides students with the opportunity to observe a staff member performing their daily work routine in their designated department. This Student Experience allows students the opportunity to explore different careers and get a realistic picture of the tasks performed in that role. This will allow you to make an informed decision about your future career and professional goals. Job shadows at FHN are typically 2 hours per department and are for observation only. If you would like to shadow longer than 2 hours, please indicate this and we will check with the department to see if they are able to accommodate.
Job shadowing is an amazing experience, which provides career exploration for students 17 years old and older as well as community members—with an interest in learning more and/or pursuing a career in healthcare.
